Divers Alert Network (DAN) Oxygen Provider Instructor
Why? Further your knowledge and increase your marketability by becoming a DAN 02 instructor. Completion of the course will allow you teach your students new skills and awareness in case an accident was to happen.
Prerequisite: Dive instructor, or PADI dive master who is an instructor in first aid / CPR and must be oxygen provider certified.
Cost: $275.00 for a 12-hour course
The United States Code of Federal Regulations (49CFR172) requires that Empoyees & Volunteers who Handle, Fill, or Inspect, high pressure cylinders must show proof of HAZMAT training within 90 days of handling cylinders, and must have training updates every 3 years after or whenever the regulations change dramatically. PSI is the only full service inspection company of itst kind in the world and is the standard of the industry. Doug's Diving offers certified courses in cylinder handling, Fill station operator, and theVisual Inspection Course, and apon compleation you will recieve a certificate of training from PSI.inc. PSI is recognized by DOT, and OSHA as meeting HAZMAT training requirments. Fire departments, govermental agencies, retail scuba stores, commercial dive boat, etal, are subject to OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910.101) SCUBA and SCBA cylinders must be inspected at a minimum of once a year, and show proof of the certified inspection.

Cost: $250.00 for an 8-hour course.
Why? First aid is the immediate care given to an injured person and consists of providing temporary assistance until a professional medical attention can be obtained. It's one of the most important skills to have in order to dive safely! Be a good diving buddy and maintain your certification. It's better to know first aid and not need it than to need it and not know it. A delay of as little as four minutes when a person's heart stops can mean the difference between life and death. This class is offered through the National Safety Council (NSC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).
Cost: $50.00 for the standard course for first time certification is eight hours. Minimum class size is 4 people.
Re-certification: $30.00 for a four-hour class. Minimum class size is
4 people.
NSC First Aid and CPR Instructor
Cost: $500.00 for person without any prior instructing experience. Four day course is offered through the National Safety Council (NSC).
Cost: $250.00 for persons who are currently a dive instructor. Two day course.
Cost: $125.00 for persons who are
already certified instructors through
another agency and need "cross-over" training to NSC.
